There are organizations and corporations, governments and nations. We despise connections and affiliations.
It seems that no matter what happens in our community, in our state, country, or world we must always put the blame on something greater than ourselves.
I believe this to be a mistake and a counterproductive one at that. Which is why I strongly believe in the individual. I am of the mindset that a corporation or a nation is not necessarily to at fault for its doings.
This is not to say that it is excusable or that no one should be blamed. As a matter of fact, my belief is the exact opposite.
I believe that to be able to blame a "whole" as we so often do, we owe it to the principle of justice to take a much better and more detailed view. The individuals whom make up such said entity are the ones to blame.
We must stop blaming unsafe cars for auto deaths, guns for homicides, and the media for teen violence.
I believe in the power of the individual enough to know that even in re-occurring situations the individual should be given the credit for fault. All individuals involved of course. This belief I have is uprooted from the lack of actions and most importantly from the inability most individual show to realize how important his or her role is.
Once we realize that the individual is the one to blame, we give the individual power. As soon as we realize that what we do affects us, and those around us the sooner we will stop running from inaction on the grounds that "only one person cannot make a difference".
I strongly believe that the individual is capable of anything, that one can empower or enslave millions. All one has to do, is get out of one's own way.
